Firstly we would like to thank you all for your overwhelming vote of support over the last week and we’re happy to say that every cloud does, in fact, have a silver lining. Whilst we are sorry to announce that the site at Petrcane can no longer be used for the festival, we are also excited as we are on the verge of securing a stunning location local to Zadar/Split. It surpasses even the location of Petrcane, and retains the ethos of a sun-kissed musical odyssey on the blissful Croatian coastline.

So, please bear with us over the next week or so as we finalise the details. Rest assured we're doing this with your best interests at heart and will give you more information as it becomes available.

BIG NEWS RE THE GARDEN, PETRCANE

Hi all,

We're sorry to be writing to you like this, but something has happened which we feel you have to know about urgently & hear from us first.

The Garden in Petrcane have just issued a statement, which you can read in full below. They are currently facing problems securing the operations license for the site in Petrcane, due to issues with neighbouring Hotel Pinija.

Negotiations are continuing and we all hope that Stop Making Sense will take place as usual in Petrcane in 2012.

We are working closely with The Garden team and all the other promoters using the festival site and are flying over tomorrow for further discussions. We all hope that 2012 will be the same magical experience in Petrcane as usual. Please bear with us over the next week as we try to resolve these issues. We will be in Croatia until the weekend & of course we know how frustrating this is for you, so we ask you kindly to bear with us until Monday 28th November when we will be in a better position to tell you exactly what is happening. Please feel free to drop us an e mail us on info@stopmakingsense.eu & we will get back to you as soon as possible.

We thank you for your kind understanding & patience during the tricky next few days, but we remain hopeful of a happy ending.

The Garden Statement :

"After 6 great years in Petrcane, we have unexpectedly come up against problems with Hotel Pinija, whose permission we need to secure our annual operating license for the festivals. Negotiations with the hotel are still ongoing & we truly hope we can solve all issues with them. Over the past few days we have been looking at numerous stunning locations local to Zadar/Split and have earmarked a few that fit the Garden bill, should a move be necessary.
If we do find we have to move to a new location what will certainly never change is the ethos of our Garden, the week long program, the beauty of the coastline, the sunshine & good times, and of course most importantly - the people.

With under 30 days to go and fantastic reports streaming in regarding great weather, superb sound and outrageous party action at The Garden (the festival site we share with Electric Elephant and Soundwave), we are delighted to announce that Deviation are taking over the sunset boat party on Saturday 13 August with their full crew: Benji B, Floating Points, MC Judah & Moxie.

This replaces the Hybrid Life boat featuring Keith Worthy, who unfortunately cant make it for reasons beyond our control... not great, but hopefully you will agree this cloud has a silver lining (...and will be the only cloud you will see in Croatia this summer!)

Park Ranger has been a resident for South London clubbing institution Trouble Vision from day one. A utility Dj that can warm up for a huge variety of artists. From Deep house to 90’s Hip- Hop, future garage to tech house. Depth of knowledge is the main factor for Park Ranger in creating sets which compliment lots of styles of music. This means he is a versatile dj who is very competent at warming up, but definitely has the qualifications to bang it out when needs be. Always one to think of setting the mood for a night. And it’s these factors that have lead him to play at some of the best clubs throughout the UK and further afield with sets at Space in Ibiza. And SMS 2011 of course... Yes!

Voted the number one attraction last year in our SMS 2010 survey, these nautical jaunts are Petrcane's secret good times weapon; we are confident this batch of bucaneering bachanalia will prove just as popular. And we have decided to extend the trips to Thursday and Monday as so many of you are making a holiday out of SMS 2011 and coming Wednesday to Wednesday. Yay. DAN BEAUMONT is known for his energetic sets which can include everything from vintage house, Italo rareties, vocal disco and the best new music he can find. In 2009 Dan fulfilled a dream by opening his very own venue – east London's groundbreaking Dalston Superstore.

HANNAH HOLLAND is a product of all the best bits of London club culture from the last decade; all the most innovative and exciting parties, scenes, movements, subcultures and music genres condensed into one frenetic DJ. Her DJ sets combine deep sleazy techno, electro, house, dubstep and more - driven by her love of bass.

THE LOVELY JONJO has been DJing for six years, though it really kicked off for him, when Erol Alkan made him a resident at the legendary Trash. Trash was a veritable clubland institution and it made Jonjo an icon of the indie clubbing scene.

NADIA learned to be difficult as a regular on the dancefloor of legendary Monday nighter Trash where she hooked up with resident DJ Rory Phillips and started the highly influential Did We Mention Our Disco. Her sets are as diverse as they are engaging, and never, ever predictable.

Trailer Trash head honcho, MIKKI MOST has made a definitive mark on London's underground clubbing scene. The night's jackin techno rave and dirty disco found itself at their very own, uber trendy; Dalston Superstore.

ROKK started life as a DJ at ‘Cock’. He then became resident at 'Boombox' in London's east end. He continues to play regulary at Trailertrash and internationally.

TROUBLE VISION BOAT (Sat 13 Aug, 2-6pm)

London's CORSICA STUDIO’s genre-ignoring in-house club night has justly earned its reputation for being one of the most exciting and, most importantly, FUN independent parties in London. From dubstep to disco with everything in between, TV has featured Nôze, Sinden, Scuba, Zomby, Boy 8-Bit, Toddla T, Ms Dynamite, Jamie XX, Jackmaster, Wbeeza, Riva Starr, Joker, MJ Cole, Oneman, MCDE, Jack Beats, David Rodigan, Theo Parrish and Hannah Holland. On the boat today: HESSELTIME + DARK SKY + OLI DAB & ROBIN (MIDLAND, MR SOLID GOLD, PARK RANGER will be on Beach Bar duties on Sunday night) .

DARK SKY (Tom Edwards, Matt Benyayer and Carlo Anderson) formed in 2009 through a mutual love for the ever evolving London electronic music scene, a love that they always reflect in their DJ sets and productions, drawing influence from everything from original UK garage through to house, via jungle and disco.

OLI DAB & ROBIN: a DJ duo who are now a staple occurrence on the London dance party scene and who take pride in pushing forward the house music they love. Also both long-term residents for one of London top parties Trouble Vision they have also taken things in to their own hands co-promoting their monthly party Superfilth.

HESSELTIME's eclectic and exciting DJ sets and his rare ability to read a crowd earned him a position as a resident at Troublevision. Expect an eclectic and thoughtful journey of music crafted to the situation and audience.

OK, so technically these guys arent playing on the boat, but part of the Trouble Vision crew, so here's a bit mo info on em anyhow...

Raised on a healthy diet of classical and electronic music by his family MIDLAND first found solace in the arms of the faster world of drum and bass. After a summer spent wandering across Spain on foot he came back and began experimenting at much slower tempos. With a recent guest mix on Radio 1, remixes and original material forthcoming on This Is Music, Werk Discs, Ninjatune and Aus, you're sure to be hearing much more of him.

MR SOLID GOLD, the man behind Trouble Vision spins a wide range of music spanning disco to dubstep, hip hop to house and everything in between. Expect to hear forgotten classics entwined with cutting-edge exclusives.

PARK RANGER has been a resident for Trouble Vision from day one. From deep house to 90's hip-hop, future garage to tech house his depth of knowledge is the main factor for Park Ranger in creating sets that compliment lots of styles of music. Always one to think of setting the mood for a night.

HYBRIDLIFE BOAT (Sat 13 Aug, 7-11pm)

Through a series of showcase events and an online magazine HYBRIDLIFE explores the unsung and underground of dance music culture. In the first year it featured interviews with Juan Atkins and Nicolas Jaar; podcasts from Kevin Yost and Soul Clap; and events with Theo Parrish and Art Department; consistently shining a light on both established stars and emerging talents. Detroit legend in the making KEITH WORTHY joins residents ALEX JONES & STE for full moon shenanigans at sea!

KEITH WORTHY is a label owner, DJ and producer. Along with Omar S and Patrice Scott he is one of the most intriguing figures of the newest Detroit generation. In his own words: "THE RULE IS...THERE ARE NO RULES, meaning that there are absolutely no constraints as long as the focus is on quality, passion and integrity from an artistic standpoint. GET READY... THE HEAT IS COMING!"

Inspired by a mixture of the golden age of tech-house and the disparate, oddball sounds of Koze, Wruhme and Bodycode, ALEX JONES is by no means a straightforward DJ. His ability to switch from hypnotic Motor City grooves to awkward, angular curveballs and back is captivating. His stewardship of the brilliant Hypercolour and Glass Table imprints has resulted in some of the most interesting output around; Kyle Hall, Jimmy Edgar, Glimpse, Soul Clap - to name just a few. His own productions more than live up to the hype too, with Dinky, Marcus Fix, Akufen and Wolf + Lamb all championing his off-kilter sound.

STE is one of the brains behind Hypercolour and Glass Table, two of the UK's coolest underground music labels. He started out being the go-to man in Leeds for quality sounds at the legendary record outlet, Tribe Records. He regularly supplied locals like Ralph Lawson and Simon Baker, and international guests like Magda, Jon Tejada, and Doc Martin. Early in his DJ career he played alongside the likes of Michael Mayer, The Orb, and LFO. He then went on to run Immigrant Records for a few years before setting up his own labels, and dispensing further musical wisdom as Hybridlife's music editor.

WARM BOAT (Sun 14 Aug, 2-7pm)

WARM is a London based DJ agency, management and events company. Established in 2000 the Warm agency is home to some of the world's finest DJ and production talents. The Warm roster includes; Âme, Dixon, Henrik Schwarz, Horse Meat Disco, Tim Sweeney and Tensnake. For this love boat, its MARCUS WORGULL, ALI TILLETT & ROB SUMMERHAYES at the tiller...

Prolific Munich based Innervisions man, MARCUS WORGULL is causing waves with his delicate production and remixes for the likes of Buzzing Fly and other on point labels. His dance worthy sets never fail to delight at the Warm events in the UK; we are delighted to have him at SMS 2011. Jahwohl!.

Warm club nights have been a permanent fixture on the London scene for 10 years now and continue to showcase not only artists from the Warm agency, but also other highly regarded DJs and producers from around the world, such as Todd Terje, Steve Bug, Sebo K, Move D and Maurice Fulton. DJ ALI TILLETT is one half of this finely tuned party machine...

Other Warm half & resident dj ROB SUMMERHAYES finds his sound falling on the finer side of deep electronic house and techno. Last year's Warm boat party was awesome... this year's is promising to be even better. Dont sleep on this one!

FAVELA CHIC BOAT (Sun 14 Aug, 7-11pm)

FAVELA CHIC is a restaurant, a bar, a club, a bordello and none of the above. It’s a gallery space, a wardrobe and an asylum, a celebration of Brazil and France and London, a rock ‘n’ roll circus “a danser la samba beat”. With venues in Paris and in London, Favela Chic bring their kaleidoscopic Franco-Brasilian musical vibe to SMS once again

GRINGO DA PARADA is one of the founders of Favela Chic ... a Brazilian haven of disorder and progress found in both London and Paris. There he orchestrates a soundtrack that incorporates Brazil's myriad rhythms and carnival traditions - think anything from forro and bossa nova to raw baile funk - while also embracing rock'n' roll, hip hop, Britpop and riotous electronica. When you party with Gringo, Seu Jorge meets Ella Fitzgerald and they settle down with the Rolling Stones for one helluva night.

CHRIS TOFU is a man who loves music and festivals and probably spends more time in fields that anywhere else. With an affinity for all things swing, his Electro Swing expedition found a home at The Book Club and the event continues finding itself crammed as time goes by. Whether it's gypsy funk or 80's reggae, he's sure to dig deep come Sunday at Stop Making Sense.

DANZA MACABRA BOAT (Mon 15 Aug, 2-7pm)

Glasgow's peerless venue SUB CLUB brings a selection of their resident djs to SMS once again for pure dancefloor diversity. For this, the grand finale of SMS 2011, the Subbies have surpassed themselves, putting together the mega dream team line up of OPTIMO, JACKMASTER + HARRI & DOMENIC. This one will sell out, so act fast...

OPTIMO (Espacio): a club night in Glasgow started in November ‘97 at The Sub Club by djs JD Twitch and JG Wilkes. Both grew tired of their firmly-rooted techno-based nights deciding to form a new, more satisfying and creative club. The best description of the club and the nature of the night, is through the origin of the name. “Optimo” is a song (released in 1983) by Liquid Liquid. The historical and cultural origins of Liquid Liquid would provide the inspiration for the ethos of the club; a return to the spirit of early 80's NYC where many nascent scenes were emerging (hip hop, punk, no-wave, disco) all separate from each other but all united in a totally open attitude to experimentation and unequivocal challenge to creative boundaries or conventions.

JACKMASTER, aka Jack Revill, plays things old school. Putting needle to vinyl and doing what a DJ should do best. Starting out in Glasgow - he and some friends got together to compile quality electronic music and so, the Numbers label and club night was born and has now grown; forming the Numbers Collective. Last year he got himself DJ Magazine's Breakthrough DJ of 2010 award and now, Fabric regular and with his own Fabriclive 57 due to be released come May 2011, SMS is dead chuffed to have him over with Sub Club.

Glaswegian duo, James Harrigan and Domenic Capello, aka HARRI & DOMENIC, have been responsible for Sub Club's programming for over 16 years now - and they bring priceless line-ups including some of the best international names in house and techno to one of the city's most iconic venue. Subculture was born when the two became partners, and as is natural with such fanatics, their crates go deep and the result in a seemingly endless array of quality house and techno.

We're talking a sunshine party set, not banging out the big tunes but music that reflects what I play on the Melodica radio show. A few Croatian phrases for the absolute beginner:

Molim – Please / Hvala – Thank You / Da – Yes / Ne – No / Bok – Hello, hi, bye / Oprostite – Sorry, Excuse me / Dobro – Good / Dobar Dan – Good Day / Dobro Jutro – Good Morning / Dobro Vecer – Good evening / Laku Noć – Good Night / Kako ste – How are you / Ja sam – I am / Kada – when / Račun – Bill / Koliko – How much / Pivo – Beer / Vino – Wine

Money: The Croatian currency is Kuna (eg. 10kn), although you will find that most places will now also accept Euros. The conversion rate is current about 8.5kn to £1, or 7kn to 1€.

Cash Machines (Bankomat): There is a cash point outside Hotel Pinja, next to the festival entrance. But the bars on site take credit cards as well as cash. Other than that, the closest can be found just 5 minutes walk away from Villa Lisica, located round towards Punta Scala. The other one is at the Petrol Station on the main road from Zadar, about 25 minutes walk away.

The cost of stuff: Main dishes in restaurants range from 70kn to 150kn / Pizza – 40kn-65kn / Sandwiches – 30kn-50kn / Beer – 20kn
for 0.5Litre (approx a pint) / Spirit & Mixer – Approx 25kn / 20 Cigarettes – 20kn

Food: The Dalmatian coast is famous for its cuisine and the seafood is without doubt some of the finest in the world. Villa Lisica, nestled in a private bay towards Punta Skala has great music, great food and excellent service. Liburna and Pjeroʼs in the centre of the village are also excellent.

Taxis: Cabs have just been regulated in Croatia and must work to a meter so they are now much more affordable than in previous years. A Taxi to Petrčane from Zadar Airport should cost around 180kn (about £20). A taxi from Zadar town centre to Petrčane should cost between 100-120kn (about £12)

Internet Access: In Hotel Pinija they have wi-fi and a couple of computer stations. Villa Lisica also has free wi-fi and a computer that is available to use if the restaurant isnʼt too busy. If youʼve forgotten to print off your boarding card then Villa Lisica is happy to help you try and complete the Ryanair Challenge!

Village Shop: The village shop is called Konzum and is located on the promenade in the centre of the village next to the bus stop and tourist information. Next to the shop is a tobacconist. Both are open until around 8pm.

Tourist Information: This is based directly upstairs from Konzum, although the entrance is on the opposite side. Here you can find bus timetables and information on excursions and attractions in the area.

The Bus Stop: The bus stop is just in front of the tourist information. Buses are inexpensive and run regularly between Petrčane & Zadar from early in the morning until about 11pm. There are also regular buses between
Petrčane and Nin.

THINGS TO DO WHILST YOUʼRE HERE!

- Boat Parties. If you havenʼt got a ticket for a boat party then make sure you donʼt miss out, there are the highlight of many peoplesʼ holiday. The FACT magazine & Bumbumbox boat party is gonna be amazing!

- “The Greatest Sunset in The World.” According to legendary film director Alfred Hitchcock that is exactly what we have here in Zadar. He definitely knew a thing or two about lighting and once you have experienced it we think you may well agree.

- Walk around the seafront. The short walk round the bay towards Punta Skala is quite beautiful, a great way
to spend an hour or so of your day. The sunbathing spots and water are also much less crowded there.

- Late Nights In Barberellas. The circular, seashell shaped nightclub at Hotel Pinija was designed in the 70ʼs by an Italian architect and it screams 70ʼs Italo-disco.

- Recuperate at Villa Lisica. As well as great seafood, grilled meats, pizza and pastas, Villa Lisica also specialises in freshly made fruit smoothies, super-food salads, vegetarian meals and healthy breakfasts for those looking to revitalise. Throw a Full English, a proper brew and one or two Bloody Marys into the mix and youʼve got the perfect spot for anyone in need of a little post-match TLC!

- Sea Organ & Greeting to The Sun. The Sea organ is an experimental musical instrument that performs music by way of the movement of the tide underneath a set of large marble steps. The waves create somewhat random but harmonic sounds. Next to this is the Greeting to the Sun; both were designed by architect Nikola Bašić and are best seen at night.

- The Garden Bar. By day, The Garden is a beautiful, tranquil oasis where you can chill reading or playing board games, watching the peaceful waterside world go by. By night, this is one of the coolest places in town with fantastic music and beautiful people having a dance or lounging enjoying one of their many cocktails. The Garden now also serves á la carte meals, which are outstanding.

- The Old Town of Zadar. The old town is quite magnificent and well worth spending an afternoon in for a taste of classic Venetian architecture. The Town Square, the Bridge, the Riva and the Lion Gate are all beautiful places to wander around or relax with a coffee and watch the world go by.

- Islands, National Parks & more. . . If your staying for a week or longer then you should definitely look into exploring a bit further a field. With over one thousand islands and many national parks to choose from Croatia has a wealth of things for you to do and places to visit. Villa Lisica has details of organised tours and boat trips.

Summer's coming, what's on the agenda?
"I'm planning on spending the rest of the summer bare foot frolicking in fields, dancing to wonderful music in this glorious summer we're having! Doing Lovebox, Secret Garden Party, Field Day, a load of lovely London gigs & warehouse parties, skipping off to play for you guys, then boarding a ferry to the Isle of Wight for Bestival to play before heading out to NY!"

Tell us about your latest projects?
"My latest & most exciting project is the my party 'Lovesick' which together my party partner launched at Cargo, Shoreditch last month...twas a huge success, being likened to something from a Bacardi ad, where party goers laden in fancy dress took to the tables, in a room full of hearts & bunting & burst out to the terrace dancing to the summer sounds of myself & our DJ's! The next installment is on the 7th August @ Cargo & we're also hosting all dayers at The Old Queens head, Islington under the same name. Fun times indeed!"

What current artists are you drawing inspiration from right now?
"Mystery Jets, Delphic, Friendly Fires, Loose Cannons. I love big carnival sounds, lots of percussion, music to make you feel good!"

What are you favourite/biggest tunes of the moment?
"I'm a big fan of 'Superbeat' by The Slips, Yolanda Be Cool & DCUP – 'We No Speak Americano', anything from Fenech Soler but generally enjoying anything with a summery beat!"

What can we expect from your show at Stop Making Sense?
"Exactly that...a show! Big bass-lines, big fun, massive sounds, a one girl carnival & a lot of gyrating on the decks!"

Who are you most looking forward to seeing play at the festival?
"Friendly Fires...if they bring their usual cow-bells, I'll be a happy girl!"

Any unusual festival tips?
"Always take a couple of pink wigs, an air horn & plenty of baby wipes..."

Juan 'Magic' Atkins: "Every track I dropped, people cheered"

“We’ve revamped the recordings; we’ve pitched up a couple of the tracks, beefed up the drums a little bit, so it’s different sounding from the previous show. I’m now spending time making it more of an event.”

You lucky lot of Londoners can get a very special taste of what to expect from our first Stop Making Sense festival this Saturday, 7th August, as Cable plays host to a Stop Making Sense launch party starring Detroit techno legend Juan Atkins.

Atkins headlines the Cable’s Room 1, co-hosted by Need2Soul and Sud Electronic, with additional turns from Tama Sumo (of Panoramabar fame) and Keith Worthy. Sud’s Lakuti brings up the rear.

Room 2 is hosted by BumBumBox, Matias Aguayo‘s South American party collective, in partnership with Allez-Allez. Aguayo himself will spinning his favourite techno, disco and electro-funk jams; the Allez-Allez DJs – including Sam Willis of Kompakt duo Walls – provide support.

SMS mix 16 - Rebolledo

Anyone who has been following the exploits of Matias Aguayo’s Cómeme label, or attended one of his infamous Bumbumbox parties, will be familiar with the name Rebolledo.

The Mexican artist – whose sound is a hybrid of house, techno, electro and avant-pop, suffused with Latin flavour – has earned a sizeable cult following for his singles ‘Bo Jack’ and ‘Guerrero’.

Most recently Rebolledo has been collaborating with Superpitcher as Pachanga Boys and with ‘Pitch and Jörg Burger under the name The Three Lions – you can check out the first fruits of these two projects, the tracks ‘Power’ and ‘You’ll Win Again’, on Kompakt’s forthcoming Total 11 compilation.

You’ll be hearing a lot more from Rebolledo in the months ahead: he’s currently writing and recording his debut solo album. In the meantime, be sure to catch one of his flipped-out live/DJ performance at FACT’s boat party as part of our very own Stop Making Sense festival this summer.

Summer’s here. What’s on the agenda?
“The main thing is that Gary Pimiento (who created Bumbumbox and Cómeme with Matias), is coming over to spend a month with me…In this time I’m gonna be working on the first ideas for my album which I want to have ready in about a year from now. Even though Gary is not a musician, producer or DJ, having him close by during any creative process is always great and revitalizing. Also, when we spend time together great ideas always come for new projects or for Cómeme.”

So tell us about your latest projects…
“In the last months I’ve been doing some remixes for different people, this is something I really like to do. It´s a shame sometimes the people that ask for them are expecting something like ‘Guerrero’, or ‘Pitaya Frenesí’, just with their lyrics on top. Also, I’ve been doing some collaborations lately…I’m very glad I’ve found some people with which I have so much fun working with, and that when it comes to the final result, it doesn’t sound like just me, or the other person, but actually both of us. The new Cómeme record is from me and Daniel Maloso together; it’s a 5-track EP called Desierto that reflects my ideas of dark dancefloor momentum and Dany’s musicality. I’ve been working with Superpitcher on new tracks for Pachanga Boys, the little project we have together. One of these tracks, ‘Power’, is included in the new Kompakt Total 11 compilation coming out in August. Also for the same compilation, Superpitcher and Jörg Burger invited me to join them to work on a track called ‘You’ll Win Again’, for which I did some singing. The idea is to continue doing things together every time a cool idea comes up that would fit our taste under the name The Three Lions.”

What current artists are you drawing inspiration from?
“Mmmm… Hard to say, because most of my inspiration doesn’t come from other music…but I like what the guys from Cologne Tape are doing, for example…Also, I’m going a lot through my old record collection, with a special focus on stuff from the end of the 60s and beginning of the 70s, and there’s a little obsession with the Jacksons in their Motown years.”

What are the big tunes for you right now?
“One of them is actually a remix I did with Matias Aguayo for a guy from London which was not accepted…the label boss said it was too dark and people would leave the dancefloor. A track that I did with Patricio (a friend back in Mexico), called ‘Atanavajas’. Superpitcher’s ‘Rabbits in a Hurry’ (mainly the instrumental). Matias Aguayo´s ‘Niños’, Cologne Tape, ‘Render’. ‘Dense and Home Alone’ an edit of the Jackson 5´s ‘Hum Along And Dance’).”

What can we expect from your show at Stop Making Sense?
“Action and reaction!”

Who are you most looking forward to seeing play at the festival?
“I’m very curious about Optimo, and Allez Allez…I’ve never seen either of them, but I think their taste fits mine very much…Also I´d like to see Toy Selectah (the other Mexican invited), it’s been a while since the last time I saw him, so I’m curious about what his show is like now. And Theo Parrish. I saw him for the first time in Montreal at the Mutek festival a couple of weeks ago and it was great – for me it was the best of the whole event, but sadly the show was too short, so I want some more of that… ”

Where will we find you at sunrise on Sunday morning?
“In someone’s arms hopefully…A nice beach is the second option…A mix of the two would be even better…”

Tell us about your latest projects?
"New website for Pure Groove, a pile of new releases on various labels I run, and I finally have my own studio so may even try and put down the latest DVD boxset and try and make some new tracks. Plus, developing a unique sound system to take to the festivals in 2011!"

What current artists are you drawing inspiration from right now?
"Memoryhouse, Walls, Wavves, Holy Ghost, John Talabot, Herzog, Junip, How To Dress Well, Tensnake and a million other things that fill my life with sound!"

What are you favourite/biggest tunes of the moment?
"Love the Boys Noize mix of Scissor Sisters that arrived today. The Deloreon mix of John Talabot's Sunshine is what summer should sound like. Ghostape's mix of Swedish act Koralleven is truly odd and really great. The whole Mim Suleiman album produced by Maurice Fulton is incredible. And on the complete flipside, I'm loving the super retro C86-tinged Wild Nothing's album - the perfect one-man band. And he might be hugely irritating but the new Mark Ronson single 'Bang Bang' with Q-Tip is just the business."

What can we expect from your show at Stop Making Sense?
"A short set of good songs. I'll see if I can get my pyrotechnics set on the hand luggage on Easyjet but I suspect I'll have to leave it at home."

Who are you most looking forward to seeing play at the festival?
"Django Django and The Very Best are both amazing bands, plus Allez Allez's parties are always great. I've probably seen Optimo DJ more than anyone else - they're still the best around. I haven't seen Benji B DJ in ages, I'm really looking forward to seeing him too."

Any unusual festival tips?
"All festival tips, however sensible or valid they may be, are forgotten about once you sip that first beer of the day while soaking up a bassline..."

Where will we find you at sunrise on Sunday morning?
"Hopefully not trying to swim to Italy as part of a drunken bet."

Brick Lane may lack the crystal blue waters of the Adriatic but the sun is well and truly here and tomorrow night we'll be bringing more than a little Croatian magic to London's East End as we touch down for a Stop Making Sense party special at 93 Feet East's monthly HAUS night.

Headlining the night are the Mercury and Brit nominated FRIENDLY FIRES. Now generally when bands make an appearance in the DJ booth, we make our excuses and leave, Friendly Fires though are a different proposition altogether. Tell us about the mix you’ve recorded for Stop Making Sense...
"It's a collection of tunes that I really dig and that I think would work well on a sunny day. I usually switch up styles more when I play out, but I thought it would be cool to try a "house" mix for once! I also tried to include as many artists that are playing at the festival as possible, just because I the line up is so great."

Any exclusives or particular favourites on there?
"I really love anything MCDE does, so the first track is definitely a favourite. I also really dig "She's Bad", that sexy refix Gadi Mizrahi and Soul Clap collaborated on, which can be found towards the end of the mix - its too much!"

What current artists are you drawing inspiration from right now?
"I buy pretty much every record that Floating Points and James Blake release. And I also really dig Kyle Hall - he's on another level."

Who are you most looking forward to seeing play at SMS?
"Pretty much the whole lineup! Django Django, The Very Best, Theo Parrish, Kyle Hall, Matias Aguayo, Benji B..."

Any unusual festival tips?
"Not unusual, but practical: don't forget to bring a towel."

We caught up with the band to find out more...

Summer's coming, what's on the agenda?
"Standard missioning across the fields of the UK in a souped-up Toyota Previa with far too much sub. As well as SMS we've got a nice range of festivals - We'll be at Sunrise (Saturday 6th June, Triban stage, midnight) Glastonbury (The Hub, Thursday 6pm, Small World, Sunday midnight), Beat Herder (Friday 2nd July), Lovebox (Friday 16th July, 4pm, Jose Cuervo Stage), Secret Garden Party (Planet of the Antics, Saturday 24th July, 7pm), Grassroots Feastival (Friday 3rd September). We're also co-curating one of the big areas at Secret Garden Party (formerly Valley of the Antics, now 'Planet of the Antics') and we run our Wormfood parties at Passing Clouds every two months - next one Saturday 3rd July with Violentango from Argentina, plus The bPm....."

Tell us about your latest projects?
"Working on this Mixtape! We've been playing live shows as The Worm for 3 years now (percussion, violin, vocals and now laptop), but since getting more and more involved with programming and promotion, I (Andre) have started dabbling in the dangerous world of DJing under the nickname Bobby Gandolf...... I'm still RUBBISH at mixing but I rate my taste in music! So as well as improving the live mixing side of things, I've been working with Worm laptop wizard Nick Bentley to make a mixtape on Ableton that will showcase some of the sounds we like and also just to give people something nice to enjoy the summer!

"We're starting to play out as Worm Soundsystem/ Bobby Gandolf ft. Billy "Brassiere...We're also beginning to work on some production for other vocalists.... there are loads of amazing Jamaican MCs around Hootananny Brixton, where I put on nights, especially Clint, who sells the jerk chicken in the beer garden.... so we're starting to make some tracks to feature some of those guys...."

What current artists are you drawing inspiration from right now?
"Been getting into dancehall the last year or two, partly thanks to the amazing inspiration of The Heatwave. As well as being a phenomenal DJ and remixer, he is super on-it with the blogs and is always giving away tunes on his website and facebook. And they are always hot! Definitely feeling Busy Signal and the way he seems to embrace loads of different styles (like his remix of Sergio Mendes' 'Magalenha' which features on our mixtape). Also everyone bringing in credible global elements while maintaining a sound that can make a club crowd move.... people like RadioClit, Buraka Som Sistema, Toy Selecta, Renaissance Man....."

What are you favourite/biggest tunes of the moment?
"Been getting right back into the old-school garage of my teens. Remembering tunes like 'Neighbourhood' (on our mixtape as Zed Bias' 'I Feel Good' remix), 'Battle' (Wookie, also on our mixtape), MJ Cole's 'Sincere', etc. But there are still loads of amazing tunes which don't seem to have resurfaced. 'What You Want' (Industry Standard), 'The Dreem Teem Theme' (Dreem Teem), 'Closer Than Close', 'Masquerade', 'Gunman' etc. Looking forward to somebody giving those a 21st-century workover..."

What can we expect from your show at Stop Making Sense?
"A big rowdy mix of sweet African grooves, soulful female vocals, jumpy energetic percussion and plenty of bass."

Who are you most looking forward to seeing play at the festival?
"We're only going to be there on the Sunday so not sure who we'll catch, but Radioclit have been a big inspiration for us, and I'm really feeling Toy Selectah right now! Always love Cal Jader and Russ Jones' DJ sets as well..."

Any unusual festival tips?
"Peanut butter and bananas go a long way. And it's always fun chopping things with an oversized knife. I have a ridiculously large kind of hunting knife which I always take to festivals, it's so much fun to chop cheddar with. Let alone spread peanut butter. Careful with the airport security though..."

Where will we find you at sunrise on Sunday morning?
"Unfortunately, at Gatwick Airport looking extremely bleary eyed after running a stage at the Grassroots Feastival near Cambridge, but looking forward to catching our flight and getting some much needed sunshine Croatia festival vibes!"

Summer's coming, what's on the agenda?
"At the moment we have quite a few things coming up such as our Plastic People residency with Prosumer and Tim Sweeney in July and August and on top of that we have festival slots at Lovebox and V festival in Chelmsford as well as a few European residencies in the pipeline which we are looking to kick start very soon! Beyond that we have a monster line-up nearly finalised for Warm 11th Birthday in October which will also be the start of a quarterly residency at Corsica Studios."

Tell us about your latest projects?
"Working on some new events and line-ups for the Autumn / Winter which is nearly all done as well as working on European warm residencies and there is a record label in the pipeline. Also continually working on the agency with artists such as Horse Meat Disco, The Revenge, Mark E, Tensnake and many more..."

What current artists are you drawing inspiration from right now?
"At the moment the most exciting artists around that i continually keep checking are Kyle Hall, DJ Koze and Nicolas Jaar on the house / electronic front and then my fave band at the moment are Ariel Pink. All are currently on rotation on the ipod."

"Playing music in a few fields, and more work on our forthcoming second album."

Tell us about your latest projects?
"Our new album is perhaps just over half done, and sounding great. We've got a few other exciting things in the FF factory pipeline which I'd love to tell you about, but you'll have to wait for the official announcements. Apologies."

What current artists are you drawing inspiration from right now?
"Personally, Tony Allen. As for the whole band, so far on our new recordings we've been channeling Depeche Mode, Carl Craig, Black Sabbath and Justin Timberlake."

What are you favourite/biggest tunes of the moment?

Party time: SMS bring the beach to London!

You can't say we're not good to you...following on from roadblocked SMS parties back to back in East and West London earlier in the year we're back, bringing another sun-kissed taster of what you can expect from our first festival in Croatia this September.

On Thursday 24th June we hit Favela Chic with lives bands Rogue Nouveau - the jazz-hip-hop-soul brainchild of sassy singer/MC Natalia Sheppard (pictured, above) - and Hannah and the Heartbreak, whose previously toured with Martina Topley-Bird and is part of North London's vibrant warehouse scene. Support on the night comes from SMS favourite cumbia-championing world music renegade Russ Jones and resident Madera Verde.

The night after, on Friday 25th June, we return to Notting Hill Arts Club with an all-out electronic affair headlined by secretsundaze resident Giles Smith with special guest Lakuti of sud electronic fame. Expect cutting edge house and techno with a distinctly cool, continental flavour.

Tell us about the mix you’ve recorded for Stop Making Sense...
"Well this is about the 4th attempt at it, in 15 years of DJ'ing I think I've recorded about 3 mixes in total, every time I sit down to do one I end up getting too carried away, trying to create something completely epic and heroic and then get bogged down in the details. Like for this I must have tried about 5 completely different mixes, from pure ambient through to acid house, via god knows what. In end after looking around and realising I was sat in a room surrounded by about 400 records all spread over the floor I just selected a dozen or so tracks I've played recently, got any notion of fancy edits or messing around with software out of my head and just did it as I would a live set."

Any exclusives or particular favourites on there?
"Nothing too exclusive I’m afraid but certainly some of my favourites, I've wanted to sneak To Rococo Rot's 'Telema' into a mix for some time, and I had to get something by Joakim in there, probably one of my favourite producers of all time."

Summer's coming, what's on the agenda?
"Sweating in an office for most of it probably. Still hopefully I’ll shed some of my wintry palour. If all goes to plan I'll get out to a few festivals this Summer, I usually try to get to Standon in the UK, and then I'll probably do Soundwave before finishing the summer in style at SMS. And of course I’m looking forward to seeing England crash in the 2nd round of the World Cup."

Tell us about your latest projects?
"Well, our label, Hot Pockets is going gangbusters, we've just put out our 4th release, a little yellow 7" by this amazing pop band from Brighton :Kinema:. That's a lot of work, money and effort but just about worth it in the end. That moment it arrives from the pressing plant, it's just the best feeling and generally lasts right up till you get your first royalty statement through. Then I think my next major project is a complete redesign of the Slutty Fringe site, we redesigned it last year, but it was only really cosmetic, the plan now is to sit down and really look at just what we can and want to do with all the tools available to us. We really do live in an astonishing time, it's easy to forget sometimes how easier it is to be creative these days. My aim is that later in the year we'll start producing our own little 30 minute shows. The fact that we can do all that with some cheap equipment and lots of good will I still sometimes just find staggering. It's taken me a long time to fully realise that you really can have a go at anything you want, you have to be a bit bloody minded about it. Once that's done it's time to go back to basics, I've just started a little publishing company and hopefully will put out a couple of books by some friends, and hopefully produce a print version of Slutty Fringe, I still love creating things that you can actually hold in your hands.'

What current artists are you drawing inspiration from right now?
"You know after feeling a bit jaded for a while, the past 6 months has been really inspiring musically, people like Walls, The Chap, Grovesnor, have all put out amazing albums this year. Then in the clubs you've got people like Hot City, or the whole Night Slugs crew redefining house music, and there’s still more amazing disco records coming out than I think anyone really knows what to do with. I just think it’s a really great time for club music again."

What are you favourite/biggest tunes of the moment?
"At home I can't stop playing 'Even Your Friend' and 'We Work in Bars' off the new Chap album. Club wise... Leo Zero has been knocking out these amazing hip-house re-edits recently that are just perfect in every way, and something like the recent 2 Bears EP, I think that’s the first record for ages that I’ve ever played every track off the EP in one set, so, so good."

What can we expect from your show at Stop Making Sense?
"Well, I think I'm on about lunch time/early afternoon on the Saturday and I was out at Petrcane last summer and know that the Croatian midday sun is pretty fierce, so I'll just keep things nice and gentle. Lots of dubby disco, ambient pop and Balearic tracks, music for people to slowly get their heads together for the day and night ahead."

Who are you most looking forward to seeing play at the festival?
"Oh too many, it's such a great lineup. I mean take your pick Optimo, Allez Allez, The Very Best, it's hard to choose. Look at the Secretsundaze stage, you could just spend the whole day there, I can't wait for Carl Craig's set, that will be really special under the stars."

Where will we find you at sunrise on Sunday morning?

Running Tings: SMS x Nike Tied Together

Stop Making Sense has joined forces with NIKE to support their TIED TOGETHER campaign, an epic journey in response to a global health crisis.

Five cities. 120 hours of racing. 24 hour relays. This week NIKE, (RED) and people in London, New York, Milan, Berlin and Paris are lacing up and moving through the streets of their city to help fight HIV/AIDS in Africa.

24 teams of London’s most creative ambassadors - including yours truly (alongside the likes of Girlcore, VICE, Work It, Mixcloud, SUP and others) - have joined forces to raise awareness of the ongoing battle against this disease and to help the people suffering from it.

Journeying through the city, each team has devised individual t-shirt designs and routes to broadcast their support and rally behind the cause. We'll also be calling on our rafter of festival DJs to provide a 24-hour musical mix courtesy of Stop Making Sense.

The accompanying exhibition at Nike 1948 concept space in Shoreditch showcases London’s very best talent interpreting, expressing and pressing home the urgency and severity of this worldwide issue.

NIKE will contribute 100% of its profits from the sales of (NIKE) RED Laces to the Global Fund and to support soccer-based programs to help fight AIDS in Africa.

Richard 'Time and Space Machine' Norris: exclusive new mix for FACT magazine

Richard Norris aka the Time and Space Machine aka one half of Beyond the Wizard’s Sleeve (with Erol Alkan), has done a mixtape for FACT.

An altogether cosmic affair that spans psychedelia, Balearic, prog, kraut and disco and is a perfectly pitched indicator of what you can expect from Norris' set at Stop Making Sense this September. With the sand between your toes and waves lapping up to shore in the background, it should go down a treat...

Norris has been entertaining us all year with his Fantasy Island sessions at London’s Camino Bar, and this year released the first Time and Space Machine album, following mini-LPs Volume One (2008) and Volume Two (2009).

Optimo: Forever Mixing It Up

Dance music legends don't come much more consistently creative and jaw-droppingly inspirational than Optimo, the DJ pairing of Glasgae music lovers Twitch and JG Wilkes.

Having recently called time on their much loved weekly Glasgow party of the same name, the pair have already set up a new night - Hung Up! - to showcase the city's deep rooted musical talents.

We caught up with the duo ahead of their set at Stop Making Sense this September to find out more...

Summer's coming, what's on the agenda?
Twitch: "On the road all the time but hopefully will get a bit of time to relax."
JG Wilkes: "2 or 3 club gigs most weekends. Rockness, The Electric Frog, Glastonbury, Ibiza, Brazil, Chile, Mexico, USA."

Tell us about your latest projects?
Twitch: "Working on my label - Optimo Music. In the studio producing Scottish legends Sons and Daughters. Lots of remixing."
JG: "We run a new weekly party on Sunday in Glasgow called "Hung Up!" It's at the Sub Club. We program the line-ups, local and international, both live acts and dj's and we play at it occasionally ourselves. Hung up! has run 3 weeks now with great local dj's playing and it's taking shape nicely. Next week, 30th May, Twitch will DJ and Chromehoof will perform live - should be great. Other stuff…We're doing an Optimo party on a paddle steamer on the River Clyde and another on The Thames in London. We are also co-curating an all-day event at Tramway Glasgow on June 26th which culminates in an evening performance by one of our all-time favourite bands "Nurse with Wound" - we've called it 'A Midsummer Day's Dream with Nurse with Wound'. There's some surprises planned too for the Summer/Autumn period."

What current artists are you drawing inspiration from right now?
Twitch: "Amal Saha, Group Doueh, Chrissy Zebby Tembo, Troup Majidi, Christoph Buchel."
JG: "Nurse with Wound, The Comeme artists, Divorce, Arvo Part, David Hammons, Factory Floor, Wooden Shjips, Paul McCarthy, Levon Vincent and more."

What can we expect from your show at Stop Making Sense?
Twitch: "Lots of dancing."
JG: "Music we honestly love that we hope will make people want to dance."

Who are you most looking forward to seeing play at the festival?
JG: "Matias Aguayo."

Any unusual festival tips?
JG: "I'm a relatively inexperienced festival goer and am usually in and out… I guess I would say remember that mosquitoes can ruin everything…. apparently Catnip is a more powerful repellant than DEET."

One of Detroit techno's brightest stars and hottest new talents, Kyle 'Motherfucking' Hall (as he likes to be called) is set to be one of the breakthrough stars of this year's Stop Making Sense.

So, while we await the man's sure-to-be-stunning exclusive SMS mix, we thought it high-time he shared his thoughts on life, love and, er, baby wipes...

Summer's coming, what's on the agenda?
"Spending time with my new wife and gigging around Europe."

Tell us about your latest projects?
"My Latest Project that's coming out is on Third Ear recordings. The title is 'Must See', that comes out this month in May. As for My label Wild Oats There will be A new Release By KMFH (fyi. Kyle Mother Fuckn Hall) due out in the summer called 'The Sungoddess' EP. This record is going to be pressed to gold color vinyl and Have amazing artwork done by none other than the Incredible Mr Thrasher (he did the Hyperdub artwork for my Hyperdub release). He's an Amazing young Graphic artist who's from Detroit Also."

What current artists are you drawing inspiration from right now?
"Currently I'm drawing inspiration from not so much artists but just my friends. Just people emotions and how they function in everyday life. Lately Ive been using my music as a way to model and personify my observations of people."

In addition to the headline-grabbing big hitters such as Carl Craig, The Very Best, Friendly Fires, Theo Parish and pals, our first summer festival will also showcase the estimable talents of some of the UK's best up'n'coming DJs and producers, and none more so than Nick Agha, a Brixton-based house and techno zealot best known for being the brains behind club/events company Don't Panic.

Nick's exclusive SMS mix, the seventh in our weekly series, features plenty of his own tracks, several unheard till now, alongside re-rubs and mixes by revered house heads like Prosumer and Chez Damier (tracklisting below). We caught up with Nick to find out more...

Tell us about the mix you’ve recorded for SMS?
"My productions range between deep house and techno but I wanted to keep this mix on the house tip to create the feeling of outside daytime dancing in sunny Croatia. It gets more slamming in the middle with an abstract peak with my track satellite over and out of Nikola Gala and into some Levon remix genius mellowing again with some old school productions at the end. I haven't mastered my tracks so it was tough mixing and EQing these waves into vinyl so sorry if the sound quality isn't the best but I think Ive achieved a live raw loose which is important to me. All the effects are done live in the mix with a midi controller."

Any exclusives on there?
"There's 8 exclusive tracks of mine on there which until released we can call works in progress."

Summer's coming, what's on the agenda?
"Got my first release scheduled on a great new label Canta run by some serious young house heads really into the music and the scene as well as the creative and design element of the label towards the end of Summer and a few other labels interested. Definitely hitting Sonar and hopefully a holiday to Borneo! :)"

"Really it's the music all the time and Don't Panic keeps me pretty busy."

We're huge fans of Mexico's cumbia-dancehall-mash-up renegade Toy Selectah here at Stop Making Sense, which is why we booked him to bring a little tropical Latin partying madness to our first festival, and asked him to compile an exclusive SMS mix (download below!) - a brilliant selection of "Raverton" re-rubs and mixes that'll set your head on fire.

Summer's coming, what's on the agenda?
"Basically traveling! Both sides of the Atlantic, a interesting USA East Coast Tour starting at Celebrate Brooklyn Festival and the Latin Alternative Music Conference, followed by dates in the best parties around DC, Baltimore, Philadelphia and NYC areas, then a Europe dates around End of July and August in Germany. Lots of remixing work and the release of my MAD DECENT EP called CUMBIAS MACHINE!"

Tell us about your latest projects?
"This year has been so interesting cause aside of been traveling, finishing my EP and doing big remixes as the Vampire Weekend ones, i been working with some of the upcoming Urban and Indie Music stars in Mexico and Latin America, producing and remixing the hottest new songs of the hottest new Latino Bands, i really enjoy the fact that as we are conquering the world i got the opportunity to work and been hot in my own place and country."

What current artists are you drawing inspiration from right now?
"Interesting that i get inspiration from a wide range of art work! From Gabriel Orozco (Mexican artist famous for his work with recycled materials) to DJ Blass (one of the hottest Puerto Rico Urban producers during the last 10 years) or the rhythms and sounds that are and been happening in Latin America and Africa during the last 20 years! Colombian Music, Peruvian Music, African stuff!!!"

What are you favourite/biggest tunes of the moment?
"Something from Sound Pellegrino Label like Gucci Vump, some Tribal Guarachero from 3Ball MTY Crew or my Remix of Wildlife track called JUMBIE."

What can we expect from your show at Stop Making Sense?
"A proper Raverton Dance oriented "Ensalada" with the hottest sounds that been around my radar!"

Who are you most looking forward to seeing play at the festival?
"Definitely Matias Aguayo's crew and the Bumbumbox parties they put together, funky, simple and fun sounds!"

"Be aware of the sun and the sniffing dogs!!!"

FACT mag & Matias Aguayo host South American street party on a boat at Stop Making Sense!

We’re pleased to announce details of the boat party our friends at FACT magazine are hosting at Stop Making Sense.

Joining the world's most on-it music mag for a sun-dappled bash on the high seas is Kompakt crooner and electronic innovator Matias Aguayo (pictured), bringing the already legendary Buenos Aires street-party vibes of his BumBumBox parties to this divine, little-known corner of the Mediterranean.

Matias will be joined by Rebolledo, one of several disco ball-grabbing discoveries that Aguayo has brought to the wider world via his Comeme label. Expect loose-limbed dance music rooted in house, techno and tropical electro, all shot through with an ineffable South American charm and rhythmic flair.

The party takes place at 1.30pm-6.30pm on Saturday 4 September, and it’s quite clearly going to be amazing.

Expertly straddling the wheels of steel for the sixth in our series of exclusive Stop Making Sense mixes are fast-rising disco-loving Scots-Irish fly boys Django Django, who'll be bringing their ecstatic live show to the Adriatic this summer when they play our first festival.

With their mix spanning Suicide's classic NYC punk funk to Roxanne Shante's '80s hip-hop, Tangerine Dream's spacey synth biz and more riotous UK dancehall that you could royally jump around to (full tracklist below!), this one's a tad special.

Tell us about the mix you’ve recorded for Stop Making Sense...any exclusives or particular favourites on there?
"No exclusives I'm afraid but my particular favourites would have be the dancehall oddity i found in a charity shop last weekend , jack reuben and the riddla 'Ah nio nu-un' .. it sounds like Beenie Man dueting with Barny from the Simpsons. Also the Early B track 'Wheely' that our synth player Tommy put forward...forget boasting about girls, cars and guns REAL bad boys know how to pull a good wheely on their bmx!"

Summer's coming, what's on the agenda?
"Ah .. the gold old British summer time...crack out the umbrellas and get the kettle on... well festivals are on the agenda i guess...starting quite soon a think, with great escape in Brighton. the highlight honestly has to be Stop Making Sense festival though.. not only because Carl Craig is DJing, but we've always wanted to go to Croatia, so were very excited about this one."

Tell us about your latest projects?
"We've been 'in the studio' (my flat) since the start of the year trying to pull an album together. last year we were just taking it song by song but we have our album hats on now, so we are trying to choose tracks to concentrate on and bring it all together. its exciting, and looks good on paper to us... its about 60% done so it might make an appearance this year. if not then 2011. that sounds like ages away! but its not really when you consider tweeking, mixing and mastering etc. so well see how it goes."

What current artists are you drawing inspiration from right now?
"We listen to so much different and random music as you can probably tell from this mix. I'm always on he search for exciting new sounding music, but that tends to be old music from the 60s, 70s and 80s... obscure soundtracks, forgotten acid house 12"s and oddball library LPs. There is a lot of music out there! i love the production on 80s and 90s dancehall records.. when you listen to the version side you start to appreciate the crazy samples, synths and rhythms these guys were playing with.. people like sly and robbie, the fire house crew, lenky, steely and cleviea, shocking vibes crew.. its unlike anything else and some of its is pretty weird."

What are you favourite/biggest tunes of the moment?
"Okay, I've sent a text out for this and Tommy is the only one replying. He says Scott Walker 'the seventh sealand jacques dutronc, hippie hippie hourrah. I'm going to say, the it 'donnie' (and any other Larry Heard productions), Stevie Poindexter stuff and generally lots of '80s Chicago house. I know vinny is really into the gun club at the moment.. and king congo and the pink monkey birds...jim has two tapes.. 'a fish called wonda' soundtrack and 'pizza' by angry anderson."

What can we expect from your show at Stop Making Sense?
"Cowbells and bad shirts probably...the set is a bit like this mix, pretty random. it tends to start off with quite a lot of four four beats and dancy grooves them slip into a more raw garage / surf sound."

Who are you most looking forward to seeing play at the festival?
"Juan Atkins, Theo Parrish and Carl Craig. I was really into acid house, electro and techno growing up...I still am really, so hearing these three DJ will be a real treat."

Where will we find you at sunrise on Sunday morning?
"As long as were not in Croatian custody I don't mind."
